This shrug is so extremely quick and easy to make! I love it! It's also the PERFECT little thing to throw on over a tank top on a cool summer night. Not to mention, I scored this yarn on clearance! Heyyyyyyy!!!
MATERIALS
- 3 Balls of Yarn Bee Dyeworks Yarn or 360 yards of a similar bulky (5) weight yarn for size S/M
- 4 Balls of Yarn Bee Dyeworks Yarn or 480 yards of a similar bulky (5) weight yarn for size L/XL
- Size L (8.00mm) Crochet Hook for size S/M
- Size N (10.00mm) Crochet Hook for Size L/XL
- Yarn Needle for Weaving in Ends

NOTES
- The ch at the beginning of a round/row does NOT count as a stitch
- All rounds are worked on the right side
- All rows are marked with WS (wrong side) are RS (right side)
- This shrug is worked as 2 pieces and then seamed together follwed by adding a border
- Each piece is worked from sleeve to back
- There are only 2 sizes to this pattern S/M and L/XL - follow the pattern exactly for either size, just change your hook size
PATTERN (make 2)
Ch 30. Join with a slst to form a ring. Be careful not to twist.
Round 1: Ch 2 and dc in the same ch. Dc in every ch around. Join with a slst to first dc.
Round 2: Ch 1 and fpdc around the same dc. Bpdc around the next dc. *Fpdc around the next dc. Bpdc around the next dc. Repeat from * around. Join with a slst to first fpdc.
Round 3: Ch 1 and fpdc around the same fpdc. Bpdc around the next bpdc. *Fpdc around the next fpdc. Bpdc around the next bpdc. Repeat from * around. Join with a slst to first fpdc.
Round 4: Ch 1 and hdc in the blo of the same st. Hdc in the blo of every st around. Join with a slst to first hdc.
Round 5: Ch 2 and dc in the same st. Dc in every st around. Join with a slst to first dc.
Round 6: Ch 1 and hdc in the same st. Hdc in every st around. Join with a slst to first hdc.
Rounds 7-18: Repeat rounds 5 and 6 six more time.
Round 19: Repeat round 5 once more.
Now we'll be working in rows to create the back of shrug. Do not fasten off.
RS Row 1: Ch 1 and hdc in the same st. Hdc in every st around. Do not join. Turn your work instead.
WS Row 2: Ch 2 and dc in the same st. Dc in every st across. Turn.
RS Row 3: Ch 1 and hdc in the same st. Hdc in every st across. Turn.
Rows 4-9: Repeat rows 2 and 3 three more times. Fasten off first piece at the end of row 9.
- Do not fasten off second piece at the end of row 9.
- Ch 1 and turn.
- Place the right sides (without opening) of work together, lining up row 9s.
- Sc evenly across through both pieces of fabric to join them together.
Don't fasten off yet.
Continue to work around the opening. (see video)
Round 1 around opening: Ch 2. Dc evenly around. Join with a slst to first dc.
Round 2 around opening: Ch 1 and hdc in the same st. Hdc in every dc around. Join with a slst to first hdc. Fasten off and weave in ends.
